An afternoon at the Library

Quote1
Modern Science
Modern science began during the European Renaissance. The insights into motion and structure of universe began with Galileo Galelei, understandings of light and gravity began with Isaac Newton. Evolution of species from Charles Darwin.

Quote 2
Science Vs. Technology
Unlike science, technology did not have to wait on the specific discoveries, concepts and mathematical equations of the past five hundred years.. One can fashion medical treatments even in the absence of cogent scientific theories.

Quote 3
Society Lacking Science
Those societies that lack science must either remain deprived of technological innovations or simply copy them from societies that have developed them.

Quote 4
Knowledge Arranger
In the sacred times, beginning in the garden of eden, knowledge accumulated at a sufficient slow rate that it could be passed on orally from parent to child, and on down to each suceeding generation. Once societies become self-conscious bout the knowledge that had coalesced, groups will attempt to set it down in a clear systematic and easily grasped way by the next generation. A book on the 5 Minds for the Future:
Disciplined Mind,
Synthesizing Mind,
Creating Mind,
Respectful Mind and
Ethical

The shocking thing is that a disciplined mind takes a least 10 years to form.. These are mindsets which one could invest time in..

I picked up this book like a metal to magnet.. The author looked impressive, Howard Gardner, a world-renown psychologist and Harvard professor, and the comments printed on the back cover looks authoritative.. So i continued to read it.. The book review at the end of the blog sums up what the author has to say, however, reading the full book is recommended..
